CP upgrade 1.1 DMS version

(this upgrade is program-wise identical to CP1.1.lha, but it also contains a complete install-disk replacement, as well as MakeBootDisk script.)
Requires original disks.

If you use DMS, we recommend this upgrade over the LHA version.
Capital Punishment game requires 1.95Mb of free CHIP RAM. In order to make everything working we had to compress the system, get rid of all its unnecessary parts etc. While this gave us more free RAM it also had its side effects - on some Amigas the game would sometimes lock for no obvious reason while loading a level. Therefore we made this patch to solve those problems.

- Quit from the main menu saves the current status, and it now also fully resets the computer. Give it a few seconds after pressing "quit"!
- Additional optimization of the code eliminates the need for separate 040.library and 060.library. Everything is handled by the game code itself.
- CP now works on Apollo boards.

INSTALLATION:

- UnDMS this archive to a floppy disk. It will automatically be named "CapitalPunishmentInstallDisk".
- Use this disk as your Capital Punishment installation disk.

If you know how to use DMS utility, we recommend you use the DMS version of the upgrade. It is simpler and has more features.

INSTALLATION:

- Unpack CP1.1.lha anywhere on your hard drive.
- This will create two files:
1. CP-upgrade.readme
2. CP-upgrade.lha

- Copy CP-upgrade.lha to the Capital Punishment directory on your hard drive.
- In shell type LHA x CP-upgrade.lha
- This will start unpacking the upgrade.
- You should be prompted with: 'CODELevels/K.code' already exists, overwrite? (Y/N/A/S/Q):
- press A to to copy all the files.
- A message "Operation successful." should appear.
- You can now delete CP-upgrade.lha and play the game.
NOTE: If you run Capital Punishment by typing "execute punish" at CLI, please delete 'setpatch' command from punish file of your root directory. It was created by the original installer, and is no more needed (especially if you have 060).
You won't have to delete this if you use DMS version of the upgrade.

Demo 4.2
Exclusive "Amiga Games" demo appearing as the coverdisk with the September issue.
It is an improved version of demo 4.1. Also, as requested by a lot of users, this demo fits on a PC DD disk, so users who use PC for Internet can transfer it easily to their Amiga.
It is a two-player fight demo tested on 020/030/060 AGA Amigas with different hardware setups.

An exclusive Capital Punishment demo for "CU Amiga" and "Amiga Games" cover CDs.
Three levels, four warriors. You can play against another player or against computer. Full menu with all kinds of options.
A must see...

Capital Punishment demo 13 requires any AGA Amiga with 10Mb of free hard-drive space (3Mb for LHA archive, 6.5Mb for the actual demo). Since 6.5Mb could be too much for one file to download, this preview is cut into five smaller files.

You MUST download all five of them in order to run the preview.

FAST RAM is recommended, but not necessary.

Also, due to your requests, we made files no bigger than 700Kb so they can fit on a DD PC disk for easy transfer to Amiga. (If you are still using PC for Internet, try Miami and IBrowse on Amiga, you might change your habbit)

    Demo installation instructions:
  • Download all five files.
  • They have been compressed with subdirectories, so you don't have to worry about where each file should go.
  • Just create a Punish13 directory and simply use "LHA x -r" option. (example: if you wish to install it to your work: partition)

    LHA x -r punish13-1.lha

  • After installation we suggest that you turn your Amiga off to free CHIP RAM. Capital Punishment requires quite a lot of it, and it may happen that you can not run this demo directly from Workbench. If this happens, please read the readme file inside the archive on how to run the demo without a startup-sequence.
